Vitamin A comes in 2 forms

  1. active (retinol) which is obtained from animal sources

  2. beta carotene which is obtained from plant sources

Vitamin A is important for many functions in our body including:

  • cell reproduction

  • stimulating immunity

  • the formation of some hormones

  • healthy vision

  • promoting bone growth

  • tooth development

  • to maintain healthy skin, hair, and mucous membranes

Daily Requirements For The Average Adult:

5, 000-10,000 IU/day

It is always important to speak with your health care professional prior to adding any new supplementation to your current routine. There are instances when a person may require more or less then the recommended daily requirements.
