SO WHAT DO I EAT, USE FOR PERSONAL CARE AND CLEAN MY HOUSE WITH? FIND OUT THE ANSWERS TO THIS OFTEN

I get asked by many people what my diet looks like, what products I use for my personal care needs and what I use to clean my home. I thought that since I get asked these questions so often that I would dedicate my next BLOG post to answering them for you.

So what does my diet look like? Well I will start off by telling you that I eat frequently throughout the day and I always have; my body and my mind tend to function at there best when I’m nourished often. My daily eating routine and a fairly typical meal plan looks like this:

7:00-7:30 am Breakfast

one egg scrambled or over easy

one slice of toast with a little butter

a piece of fruit

or

one small bowl of organic plain yogurt

fresh fruit or berrries

sprinkled with flax seed

organic coffee with milk or herbal tea

1 glass of water or milk

10:00-10:30 Snack

Fresh vegetables (a variety sliced)

1 glass of fresh juice

or

1 piece of fresh fruit

1 glass of water

12:30-1:00 Lunch

a large leafy green salad with a variety of vegetables with leftover salmon or chicken and sesame or pumpkin seeds sprinkled on top

a homemade olive oil garlic & ginger dressing or a garlic/maple dressing (made by a local chef /CharGer Foods)

or

a homemade soup (acorn squash, potato) rice crackers (or whole wheat, gluten free crackers)

slice of cheese (Havarti, swiss)

1 cup herbal tea

1 glass of water

3:00-3:30 Snack

1 small bowl of plain yogurt

fresh fruit or berries

or

crackers with cheese or nut butter

or

sliced vegetables (variety) with hummus

1 glass of water

5:30-6:00 Dinner

skinless boneless chicken

roasted vegetables (asparagus, peppers) whole grain/brown rice

or

homemade vegetable or lean meat chilli homemade roll (with a little butter)

green leafy salad with an olive oil dressing

or

homemade chicken stew with vegetables

homemade roll (with a little butter)

green leafy salad with an olive oil dressing

1 glass of fresh vegetable juice

1 glass of water

8:00-8:30 Snack

handful of almonds/seeds

or

small portion of dark chocolate

or

small bowl of popcorn (I purchase organic non-GMO and I pop them in avocado oil)

1 glass of water

Each meal of the day is planned to ensure that I am meeting the nutritional guidelines for the day. Fruits are limited to no more then three servings a

day due to there natural sugar content and I make sure that nuts, seeds, flaxseed and healthy oils are incorporated daily.

I purchase my meats and eggs from a local farmer, milk from a local dairy

and most fruits and vegetables are purchased from local markets; if not

then they are purchased from the organic selection at the local grocery store. I attempt to purchase most of my food locally; items like honey, nut butters, preserves, healthy snack choices and breads can be found at most local farmers markets or natural food markets.

I am a lover of salads and raw vegetables so I tend to eat them with almost every meal of the day. I also make sure I’m getting at least 8 glasses of water a day and will add an additional glass or two in between my snacks and meals. I generally use garlic, ginger, pepper, tumeric, sage, oregano and parsley to spice up my meals.

And Yes I do eat out at restaurants! The time spent with close friends and family enjoying an evening out is perfect! When choosing off the menu I choose a breakfast of poached eggs or scrambled eggs with cottage cheese and fresh fruit salad and for lunch or dinner I choose a chicken with rice and vegetables meal with a side salad or fresh fish with rice and a salad.
