GIVE A HUG INSTEAD OF CHOCOLATE! THEY ARE FREE, THEY FEEL AWESOME AND THEY ARE GOOD FOR OUR HEALTH!

You don’t have to read a research article to know that hugs feel pretty darn awesome; they make us feel safe, loved and warm and they offer us tremendous comfort in times of need.

From the moment we are born the importance of and the need for human touch is present; nothing seems to soothe a crying baby better than close body contact and nothing seems to soothe a sick or premature baby like skin-to-skin contact does.

Hugs are fun to give and even better to receive and if you aren’t a natural “hugger” the following health benefits may be enough to get you hugging more often!

  • Hugs can increase oxytocin levels (1)

  • Hugs can lower cortisol levels (2)

Helping to lower blood pressure, heart rate and our response to stress….

And there is even evidence to show that hugs can help support our immune system; more hugs are correlated with fewer episodes of cold and flu!

All good reasons to hug more often!

CANDIAN FEED THE CHILDREN

August 20, 2015

I am pleased to announce our commitment to Canadian Feed the Children, an organization dedicated to providing support to children and families in Canada as well as internationally in Bolivia, Ethiopia, Ghana and Uganda.

We have committed to donating a portion of our monthly sales to Canadian Feed the Children to help provide children and families in need with such things as increased access to nutritious food and quality education, and community support. Together we are creating a healthier and brighter future for children around the world.
